Show Notes

It's not just silence — it’s all we have left of those who were never heard.

  • Of those who wore the uniform and continued nursing invisible injuries.
  • Of those who were told to move on before they were ever allowed to speak.
  • Of those we’ve lost to invisible battles.

This is for them. 22 minutes. No commentary. No music. Just space — for grief, for memory, for resolve to take better care of our current and future veterans.

[00:00:01] Hey, y'all. I'm gonna try something a little different today. As I'm sure you know, April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and it's a time to validate, support, and provide resources and community to victims and survivors of mst, as well as their loved ones and family members who are trying to make sense of the unthinkable. But what about the other 11 months of the year? [00:00:29] The going statistic is that it's 22 veterans that we lose a day to. [00:00:36] Mm. [00:00:39] I can't help but wonder how many of these 22 were MST victims that never found the validation or support or community that's necessary to heal and to continue fighting. I was almost one of them, and I still consider myself extremely lucky that I was never successful. So for the next 22 minutes, if you're up for it, sit in silence with me, because this is the only silence that's louder than anything I have to say. [00:24:14] And that concludes our episode. Thank you so much for being here with me and holding space for those that we've lost. [00:24:21] We'll see you next time.
